Aerial Photos Show Three-Alarm Fire At Maryland Recycling Center

A three-alarm fire led to a partial building collapse at the Owl Metals recycling plant in Dundalk on Saturday, Jan. 18.

Crews responded to the building in the 1900 block of Rettman Lane before 6 p.m. where they were met by a massive blaze that consumed most of the area.

First responders used every trick in the book overnight as they battled the fire, which resulted in one person being transported to an area hospital as a precaution, according to officials.

The fire and subsequent clean up at the scene led to chaos for motorists in the area, with some only reopening around noon on Sunday afternoon while crews continued to extinguish hot spots. Investigators are still working to identify the cause of the blaze.
